I’m very excited to compare them.

Just got some Hart Audio Cables! :grinning:

I think after the new year kicks in I’m gonna finally splurge on some upgraded cables. I want colors tho so I can quickly differentiate between them. The guy over at Hart seems like an awesome dude and he posts here regularly. Nice, enjoy.

There’s a set of Fostex T60RP’s on their way in. Also, a well used Sugden Headmaster amp that I want more for its pre-amplification abilities than the actual amplifier prowess, tho I have heard it’s pretty good.
Oh I almost forgot, there was 1 big fat 4 pin XLR to 6.3mm adaptor that came in, and nice leather covered headphone stand. I think that’s it…I’m going broke real fast…but damned if I haven’t had a blast the whole way to bankruptcy court hahahaha!

Just bought a Ratoc RAL24192UT1 dac/amp, it’s originally priced at $480 USD I think but I managed to get it for $100USD haha, pairing it with a AKG 240 R Studio which I borrowed from my brothers drum set. Planning to buy a Superlux 668B or SHP9500 for this

Me and my mates are doing a secret Santa thing, and I’m planning to buy a Blon 03 + Tripowin wire as our budget is around $60.

the Ratoc RAL24192UT1 dac/amp puts out 300mW. is that gonna be enough for some headphones out there?

I would get the Superlux over the SHP9500, the SHP9500 is a dark headphone.

That should be fine for a decent amount of headphones. Not every headphone needs over a watt or something

I have no idea—I’m just getting started into the headphone world, and the amount of things to keep track is so much more than that of an earphone and quite confusing!

But thanks for the advice! I’ll wait and see if there are any deals for Black Friday (even though the price is already quite low!) or wait until next year for it.

I believe headphones that need 1 watt or more are all above like 500$ except Tin P1s and T50RPs…

Makes sense, they wouldn’t sell much 100-200$ headphones/IEMs if people would know a 100-200$ amp was needed for these to sound decent.

Can I ask, as I have v little idea on how the impedance and watt output works, will it be fine if I plug in my Campfire Lyra II IEMs into the Ratoc Amp? I’ve been using a AK Jr DAP for the campfires but not sure if I can do the same with the amp.

I think the Lyra IIs are 103 dB SPL/mW Sensitivity and 17 Ohms @ 1kHz Impedance

It should be fine, you might have a bit higher noise floor but there should not be really any risk

yeah it should be ok, just be careful with the volume lol

Welp today I finalized my secondary monitors for my studio, the Barefoot MicroMain26. Really can’t wait to get it all set up

Has some pretty neat dsp features that let them emulate stuff like the Auratone Sound Cube too. Now I have a nice nearfield along with my main monitors

Good grief those are expensive I hope they sound as good as they are worth.

They do for my purposes lol

I’ve been looking at the KEF LS50 Mini Monitors, trying to figure out what makes them different from regular LS50s (apparently they’re tuned to be like a famous BBC monitor from the 70s.)

Well kef used to be an oem for the ls3/5a, so it might make sense they have a special edition

They’re great. I wish I had gotten them at the sale price, but I’m glad I got them regardless. My endgame speakers for a good time to come. I may pick up some vintage speakers if I find the right pair, but I don’t feel like I am missing anything with these

They’re not listed as a special edition. Just something you can buy on their website.

it looks like they’re just selling them as monitors now.
