What did you buy today? (Part 1)

Really nice cables man, where did you buy them ?
Mind sharing a link

They finally here after about 3 weeks :sob:

The treble was raping my ears tho and I can’t listen to it. Later I tried equaliser APO with AutoEQ preset for this headphone and it sounds perfect. Just perfect.

Also I turned on bass boost on my Zen DAC and I don’t think I’ll turn it off again.

I bought them from a store in China through Taobao. I really wanted to buy cables from Hart Audio Cables, but since I live in Indonesia, the shipping cost made the whole set too expensive. Here are the links:

I bought the converters with silver cables from the first store and the 3.5mm balanced from the second one. The shipping process was quite lengthy because Taobao itself does not ship to Indonesia, so I had to contact the seller and asked him to ship using the shipping service that was available to them.

Just ordered a Pair of ADX5000 Drivers for a DIY headphone. Appearantly more expensive in DE than the US prices but still maybe a good deal

Been holding out on these for over a year. I made it through the Black Friday sale, but caved when I was reminded of it on Cyber Monday. Really happy with them so far:

Aye @Onaha otg or desktop?..IEM synergy isn’t probably as complicated as that of HP’s but it’s still a big one.

Pardon my ignorance, but which model are these?

@Nick_Mimi @Ohmboy I’ve been running them almost exclusively off the FiiO M15. I popped them onto the Bigger Ben for a few minutes last night, but without a longer cable that’s not a real convenient listening setup for me. I just tried them on my CTH + SDAC I have setup here at work, and they sound fine. From my experience and reviews I’ve read, these are pretty easy to drive and pair well with most sources. I even tried them through my xbox controller last night, and while I’d prefer more volume, the sound quality was good. I almost fully expect to run them portable though, so until someone buys me a Hugo 2 I’ll be running them off the M15.

I had demoed these a few weeks before COVID struck and always knew I’d pick them up eventually. The presentation is more headphone-like than most iems I’ve tried. Soundstage and instrument separation are excellent. The bass is as good as people say, and it amazes me this is being done with just BA drivers. Not only is the bass present, it also has a lot more dynamic punch than I remember/expected and is a pleasant surprise. I tend to prefer dynamic driver headphones to planars for this reason, and lean towards single DD iems over hybrid or multi-balanced armature configs. I’ve gone through a bunch of iems, especially in the past two years, and it may be telling that the higher end ones I’ve held onto are the LCD i4s and these, and both sound more like headphones than iems.

I like the sliding doors and i dont like the sliding doors. Theyll be mostly covered by a water res. But i dont want to remove them to fit the mobo. The mobo width and phateks stated supported width ate the same mm. So tight either way.

Now im wondering if phateks width is with sliders removed

Congrats! From what I’ve been told, the U12t and other 64 Audio IEMs are not as source picky as some others in the range (i.e. the Jomo Trinity SS I picked up recently), so I imagine the M15 should do pretty well. I was considering a set of these or Anole VX when the Trinity popped up.

After a few delays and a lot of worrying, my Lawton cups have finally arrived!!!

When in less direct/bright light they are more of a brown than an orange.

I only just finished installing them. I didn’t put the dampening in the cups yet. I’m going to see how I like them “raw” so to speak then try a dry fit of the dampening a few days from now.

I’ll post my initial thoughts on the Lawton thread later tonight. What I will say now is these look great and are definitely high quality. I really like how dynamic the look of the wood is. It’s impossible to capture in a picture but the wood has a sheen to it that looks like flowing water (hence waterfall bubinga) and it’s nice how the color appears different in various lightings.

Was that a conversion from the Massdrop TX-0?

Yeah it was

A matter of want vs. need, and a lack of self control.

Inside of about 2 hours you’ll learn that “need” is actually the correct term

Give it some warm-up time too. Multibits and R2Rs are designed to run with warm resistors. Resistors change values with temperature.

OK , thanks for the tip!
