What did you buy today? (Part 1)

I have a new-to-me set of headphones on the way. I traded some Shure 1540’s for a pair of HD-600’s. I should thank Mon for his input. Hopefully they will find a niché in my collection. Because the 1540’s were leaving regardless.

If you like a cultivated ambience with very good advice, you can test any headphones including In-Ears, you are interested in and that is in their portfolio with a good glass of wine after prior registration.
Thomas is relaxed, helps with questions and also gives you the opportunity to take a closer look at the headphones of your choice with your own equipment at home.

This review sounds interesting

I know the headphone company- thank you

was in for the headphone camp v1 in autumn at the 10-14h spot and for the evening
We had planned a 4 day weekend, got the Hotel booked and my wife got sick. She loves Heidelberg- so do I
So I had to cancel the trip and pay the hotel full
We have planned to go there in spring for a longer weekend and I finally get to listen to ZMF’s and the RAAL…

Curious of your thoughts lol, should be pretty fun :+1:

As I said, I am a big fan of all Feliks models.
I had an extensive hearing test last year and ultimately decided only on the audiovalve because it offers a complete solution, i.e. with integrated dac, it also met my requirements in terms of sound and optically fits my living room a little better.

You bought direct from the previous owner?

I bet it’s easier to buy drugs. More people are interested, and a 5-figure quantity of cocaine is a more liquid asset than a DAC.

I got it from a dealer who had one used (I don’t think he was an official dealer, he just happened to have one which was rare) but he sold some really high end stuff

In july we are in poland for sailing in the far most eastern part- so maybe I even get a chance to drive by and have a look, feel and listen along the way
Edit: there is a shop on half of our way in Katowice
This could really happen

 maybe we’ll meet up at one of the events there, our women can go for a stroll together and have a cozy wine while we have fun there.

In Heidelberg not in Poland :grinning:

ZMF Ori Perf Lambskin just got in and where immediately slapped on my HE-4XX

Also, a rep from Apos got back to me about the missing USB cable and not even 5 minutes after I responded to confirm the USB cable was missing, I got a partial refund. Very impressed.

Of course- we had march in mind
Not sure yet about the exact weekend
This would be wonderful! I do mark your comment as favorite- so if we have a date… I come back to you
My wife is not drinking- though quite funny anyways

How do the 4xx sound w/ the zmf pads?

For right now, I’m confused by the pads. They are ALOT thicker and stiffer then stock, so that fucks with comfort. For right now, it’s like the bass extension is cut shorter just a little bit. What really fucks with my head a bit is that while things sound further out (product of the thicker pads), but it’s like the sound stage is smaller (but only just enough to be noticeable without having to actively listen for it).
I get the feeling that I’m gonna need to break in the pads before I can give a finalized verdict on them.

Has anyone heard of Ablet HiFi? I found this 2x3.5mm to XLR cable on Amazon UK for £35, they look good but that doesn’t necessarily mean squat. Couldn’t find them on Amazon US.

looks like another brand variation of the balanced NewFantasia cables.

Ah. I’m thinking about modding 3.5mm plugs to my Grado SR60e, don’t really want to spend twice as much on a Hart or Periapt just for that. I don’t use the Grados that much anyway so it’ll probably be fine.

Got them and send it back
Look and feel are nothing I’d want to use
The alternative was an “expensive” custom balanced braided etc cable by oidio sound UK

Is it just cheap plastic tubing like you get on crappy IEMs? Thing is, I already have a dual 3.5mm hart cable for my 4xx but I don’t trust my arts & crafts skills to be yanking them out over and over.
