FUJIFILM X-T200 in da house!!! MAN i have no idea how i managed to snag one in the used market with less than 15 shutters in, and this thing has been on backorder ever since it was released last year. Guess it was destiny.
Not gonna lie tho, I HAVE NO IDEA how to use it lol. I’ve only used canon cameras…
just got them, mainly got them for monitoring guitar / bass, since I didn’t own any low impedance closed back headphones. picked them up for 40$ on amazon. so far i’m impressed for what I intend to use them for. They are somewhat neutral- ish with a bit of added bass in the low end. I was enjoying them with a bit of bass boost from my schiit loki just to give it a bit extra, and they handle it well. they aren’t super detailed or anything but they have a sound signature that I like for some music that might be a bit harsh on treble, stuff like some metal and rock, that I could see myself using them for that. and they are light and comfortable out of the box, so no complaints there. they dont need much power anything with low gain will run them fine. ( I used to own m40xs, and they sound similar but darker sounding from what I can remember, pretty much what you would expect from the price range, they do work well as monitor headphones since they don’t leak any sound)
If you know your exposure triangle, any camera will flow well. Just gotta get used to the menu’s for extra options, but basic photo’s? You’ll be flying in no time! Cool camera bro!
I bought myself a Pentaconn to 4-pole XLR adapter for my IEM’s so that I can run them on the Harmony stack. Feels good being able to finally run all my headphones on it without swapping cables.
Also grabbed myself a cheap XLR mic that I’ve been eyeing for some time. The Blue Ember XLR. It’s very nice for 99€. It’s got a bit more low-end and radio-voice style compared to my Rode NT-1A, the latter which definitely has higher resolution and vocal clarity. But for nearly half the price I’d say the Ember was well worth the money. Solid build and looks great. Also bought a König & Meyer microphone stand to go with it, solid quality and miles above the plastic fantastic bullshit that was just below it in price range. It’s funny what 10€ does in quality.
Now I’ve got two separate recording setups and only have to move the Motu M2 around when I need to work at one desk or the other. Feels nice not having to move half my desk every time.
Finally got myself a new mouse for the laptop and streaming desk, although I’ve been testing it at my main PC too. The Glorious Model O Wireless, it’s very nice. But the software and firmware sure leaves something to wish for. I think the firmware update crashed like 10 times, it’s a miracle it didn’t brick itself and the solution was just as roundabout as it was random. Had to disable firewall and set windows locale to English (US) or it simply wouldn’t patch. Initial startup aside, I’m incredibly pleased with the way it performs.
I’ve had the O- since it launched and my only complaint is under the rubber ring on the scroll wheel is very slick and after a while the ring starts to slide without scrolling. I’ve read some people have contacted PCGR and got it replaced but it would happen again. I’ve applied a dab of super glue and it seems to do the trick but would wear off after a while (I’ve done this twice now). Overall much better than having to deal with Logitech’s double click or reverse scroll issues I’ve dealt with on a few of their mice so I’m still satisfied with it.
