I know. I was about to buy a pair of Focal Elegia for $490 , which is a pretty good deal too…so I lowballed the guy as politely as possible. His wife was making him trim down his collection, so he accepted on condition I send him some Koss Yaxi Pads. Shout out to his wife, lol.

I haven’t heard a good reputable r2r DAC other than Audio gd’s entry level model, which I didn’t care for.
Most r2r DACs aren’t affordable, so I have had to delay buying one.
Recently have been eyeing a Soekris DAC 1321 as a better entry level starting point now that the drop airist r2r is currently inactive.
Couldn’t hold back, huh? Lol
Nope! I tried! It was that lukewarm review put me over the edge. I know that makes no sense.
Resale on an item with a 10 week waiting list is probably pretty healthy, so not risking much if I don’t like it!

the soekris is pretty nice, the airist r2r from massdrop is good, the ares II is pretty dang good imo, and stuff like the bifrost 2 is really good as well (but then it’s mb vs r2r)

I actually have heard the Modi Multibit and that sounded pretty dull to me as well.
Affordable entry level consensus I’ve seen has recommended Airist and Soekris. I’m afraid to see how much the Denafrips Ares would cost…I’ve already spent money today, lol.
The modi really isn’t great either in mb or sd, the modi just isn’t great lol. The higher end schiit dacs are actually good, but I would seriously avoid the modi
People that have reviewed the Bifrost 2 call it a baby Yggy.
It only comes as Multibit now. It’s supposedly really good.
I should be ordering one by the end of the month.

Hope you like them, i use mine sometimes when on travel. Plenty of value for money spent. I think i upgraded the pads to something Zeos recommended long ago. Happy listening.
lol the pads probably cost more than the headphone. I usually will pay 20$ on pads but i dont like pads that go into 40$
