What did you buy today? (Part 1)

What are you running them out of? I actually liked mine right out of the box, but they’ve grown on me over the past week or two, plugged into my Drop Cavalli tube hybrid. I never sensed any outrageous treble, but I did put on the Brainwavz XL perforated pads @ZeosPantera recommended the first day I had them.

Yes, they are beautifully built.

Just got back from CanJam NYC and picked up the Audio Valve - Luminare

Yeah a pretty nice do it all in a nice package

Yeah that’s part of why I love my DT1990, the build quality is so good and they look like they can hold up for 50 years.

Thanks … this BBC stuff is addicting

Rega Elex-R at the moment.
I’m a transistors guy and will try the following Amps in the future: Luxman L-505uXII, Naim SUPERNAIT 3, Rega Aethos and Accuphase E-270…
The Rega Aethos would be my pic right now but I don’t have the money jet and gonna be happy with the Elex-R for now. Maybe adding a CD Player to my Oppo like an Rega Saturn-R or Audionet Art G3.
I will probably leave all my vinyl in my homeoffice because the Harbeth + Subwoofer are shaking everything. I already moved the Turntable from the living room into the homeoffice. I would need to wall mount a high mass Turntable Deck.

How do they fit 7 balanced armatures in there? Are they bigger than they look?

I really don’t know, it’s actually somewhat small, the cable is almost as thick as the iem lol. The iem itself is not solid and like almost shrink wrapped over the drivers. BA are fairly small

Haven’t bought anything yet, but I’m really wanting to pick up a set of 6XX/58X/660s. Never owned an open-back senny, but really wanting to just get back to my roots a bit and experience a different sound signature. I’ve got a pair of ZMF Auteur at home being pushed by my Darkvoice. Just trying to find something “cheap” that gives a different experience that my ZMF but still fun to listen to.

Kind of messes with my head how BAs do what they do when they are so tiny

Purchased a pair of Beyerdynamic T1 v2. That pretty much completes my Beyerdynamic collection. Just missing the 880’s from owning their entire line of headphones. Swear i’m not a Beyer shill lol

The 880 600 ohms are just awesome, you need them for the collection lol

Are there really that much differences in their line up?

I was contemplating on whether to purchase the 250 ohm or the 600 ohm. Still haven’t made up my mind yet but i’ve heard great things about the 600 ohm.

600 ohm for sure imo, it’s noticeably more refined over the 250 ohm imo. Also make sure to get the regular silver premium as the black edition is a bit less refined and brighter because of the pads it uses

I personally think so, they’re flagship T1 & T5P models are a lot more refined and pleasant to listen to if you’re not looking for that studio sound you get from the 1990 or that crazy bass from the 1770. In comparison the Amiron Home and Home wireless are extremely laid back and easy to listen to at low volumes. I’ve noticed a resurgence of interest in the T1 & T5P models which were at a lower price point until recently before they shot up in price again. Aesthetically they’re also very pleasing. What can I say? I love German engineering. The same can be said about my Sennheiser collection.

Interesting, thanks for the tip. Do you think it would fix the issue if I pad swapped the stock pads with the standard gray valour pads?

Yes if you get some genuine 880 silver pads it’s no issue then :+1:
