Went on a little bit of a binge and bought the new QKZ x HBB set, the KBear Rosefinch per a Rec from @GooberBM and I found a stellar deal on a pair of OH10s over on Head-Fi.
Exciting times
Edit: oh shit!!!

Picked up a couple of Hart Audio Cables while they’re still on sale. One balanced modular IEM with the mobile kit for my FH7. Then a balanced 4.4 mm for my Focal’s and Hifiman to use with my Fiio M11 Plus Ltd. These offer quality and versatility at a great price😎
A90 Discrete came in today where it will replace the THX789. Thanks @Wazzupi for the good price!
How do you feel so far does it pair with the ADI-2?
I’m loving the amp so far, but it’s still too early for me to have ideas on synergy. But I’ve always felt the ADI-2 didn’t have exceptionally good or bad pairings because it’s uncolored.
In terms of physical dimensions, the A90 has the same width but its depth is about an inch more.
Hey that’s mine ! Hehe I’m glad you like it. It’s definitely worth the asking price.
Got these in today, Denon AH-D7200, open box like new off Amazon for about 400$.
Was a little concerned due to the fact that there almost no reviews on it, but so far so great
Come with a CHONKY cable, that seems fine but too long for me, so i swapped it for a Hart Audio cable
Design - looks great, looks and feels pretty damn good especially the wood on the cups.
Comfort - pads are big and cushy, clamp is a firm but not too strong, the headband is my only real concern, there is a bit of a hotspot and the padding on the headband is a little stiff, so far it hasnt been a problem but ill keep an eye on further down the road.
Sound - Only listened to for about 30 min on my A90D (im burning them in right now just in case), but so far they sound very lush and very rich, i recall someone comparing them to the Meze 99 and i can differently see why, though these are more refined. Its a warm, bassy headphone, a bit boomy but good slam and impact, both mids and treble sound good with vocals sounding full though it does sacrifice detail and seperation, but i hope to spend some quality time soon enough to properlly evaluate the sound
Personally im fairly suprised more people havent tried them.
To me so far these seem to have a spot in my collection, but ill test them out through next week
Some of us are more addicted than others. IEMs are ok for me - here’s my acquisition history:
Starfield 3/13/20
OH-10 (used) 8/5/20
BL-03 (free with DROP rewards points) 6/11/22
Z12 (red+blue edition) 7/23/22
No interest in chasing fancier IEMs at the moment, but contrast those four to 21 over/on ears from 1/8/17 to 4/16/22 (I have 12 left after sales/trades). And I’m still open to trying new cans!
I probably listen to over/on ears 95% of the time, with IEMs at only 5%. This is just me - to each his own!
Been a way for a while and being an IEM guy so a bit scared to post this…but I’ve always these and got them for a paltry £165 in good condition, gonna get the cable shortened and converted to a 4.4mm in time but I must say they’re really fun as is via an OG iDSD Micro + replaced pads
Congratz on picking up a such a nice set at a great price!
Man they look dope and I bet they sound that way too
I’m positive yours sound just as good specially with the xbass. Running mine of a micro signature
finally got my BTR7 and the QKZ x HBB
Have the same problem with D9200…the hotspot can get uncomfortable.
Something like this helps a lot!
btw i love the looks of the d7200 walnut cups quite a lot more than the bamboo ones of D9200
Have you gotten a chance to play around with the BTR7? I was thinking of buying one soon.
spent a bit of time with it, BTR5 but better
Ya the look is solid i was over pretty impressed with the build quality everything feels very sturdy.
I was considering something like that to help out though so far it hasnt been an issue with the short listening session ive done
Yeah that’s what I figured. The big question is though, is it worth getting over the 5? There’s quite a price difference.
if the 5 is enough power for what you use it for it’s not a huge upgrade
that said if you use some high end stuff with it you notice the difference more
my Illumination and IE900 love the 7 more than the 5
