What did you buy today? (Part 2)

If you ever need to expand i would suggest not going with the ikea pegboards they using the straight metal hangers tend to deform leather headbands over time (suspension strap and metal band should be fine obviously). So i personally use different kind of pegboard along side a ikea “wall mount headphone stand”, also the wooden looks snazy

P.S the reason for not using the ikea ones is that because they use elogated holes is a problem to use anything but their hangers

I’m always really careful with headphone stands. Some wear the pads down and others the suspension strap.
WIth my Aeons (which are the only headphones I’ll hang there) it shouldn’t be a big problem because there is no tension on the strap when extended fully and this special metal can’t deform.

Ikea really has neat things to organize audio. I bought 2 Lack tables for 20€ and will build a hifi rack out of them

Totally get it, its very convenient just giving you a heads up (as you can see im using 2 myself, i just never use them about headphones with headphone that can get deformed). i found that the wider support point also helps suspension straps since its not stretching a single point

I am pretty excited about the Tea MK2

Sickness! Enjoy, my brother! Let me know how they are with classic rock if you can - I know one day the Teas shall end up on my desk, and I feel like they’d be perfect for my classic rock portion of my library.

They are amazing for classic rock. I just got them today, and the MK2 seems like it might have a bigger soundstage ( than the OG ), but manages to keep a very natural timber at the same time.

What happens when grown men cry for minutes with joy?

Well, they just buy what makes them happy again  :grinning:

The xDuoo MT-604 in conjunction with the latest planar in-ears is an outstanding combination.

Here for example in connection with the Dunu Talos, a 4.4mm cable and the AZLA Sedna Earfit Light Eartips.

That’s why I bought the 604 a third time to have one available at all my listening stations.

Yes, the symbiosis is really so perfect that this investment is worthwhile :+1:

Amazon is late but they deliver.

Last week I saw Z’s review of the Moondrop Stellaris and as 99.9% gave these earbuds a lousy rating they are currently on sale for €80 so I had one of these parts shipped to see why Zeos was so excited.

Since I’m generally not interested in frequency curves, I approach HiFi goods without prejudice.

And I’m very excited about the Stellaris.

In the meantime I have a good routine in it, to immediately after opening the package, after a short test on the Questyle M15

(pure, clear and natural), I determine which tip sounds best (Spinfit CP145),

the result then shows, Which DAC/Amp (iFi Gryphon or xDuoo MT-604) fits.

Then, pure experience!

After five six minutes I had a déjàvu, intense, mid-focused, airy and packed with details.

WoW a Grado as in-ear, only a bit more intense and with excellent bass.

Sitting quietly and relaxing listening to music is not what the Stellaris is for, it is challenging and just fun, you want to swing and dance along.

The planar in-ear for the wing chair for complete relaxation is the P1 Max.

Both in-ears can be bought for under €100. +cable, tips and suitable amplifier if none is available, because an Apple dongle is definitely not enough to drive planar in-ears adequately.

Don’t you find that the gain is way too high for IEM’s?

I think we both fine-tune the volume with the player (DAC).

I got my Brimar last week…It is amazing the difference it made over the stock rectifier tube in my Woo Audio WA6…Today I got my “fat bottle” Sylvania 13fd7’s and the yellow print Sylvania 13de7’s…Time to do some tube rolling…

Fair enough. I have an MT-602 and I had to use a pre-amp to make it usable with my Grado’s and the like.

That is a bangin’ setup, man! Love it! My Ikea pegboard holds nine over-ears comfortably. Whatever isn’t hanging up already is scattered around various listening stations at home and at the office.

Yes! Another like-minded listener!

Love the tip organization - sick!!

Thanks my "OCD"ness hates things in our of order, its a somewhat old picture its even a little more tidy now. But if you dont a pegboard you can get something like this, its pretty much the same holder just different kind of mount

This little thing arrived today, and it’s giving my Schiit a run for its money.
With the Loki off (obviously), I cannot tell the difference between them.

I still prefer my desktop setup for its convenience, but I think I found my next away-from-the-office setup

I only really use the MT-604 for my P1 and og Timeless so Planar sets (bought for that exact purpose) I set the 2 volume pots to max so like a power amp with a fixed volume level and adjust it using the DAP, seems to work well in this use case, the DX300/12 does have 3 gain settings which helps too :+1:
