Got a headphone that I planned to get when I retire but happened to find someone that wanted my 109s so we traded.

Hold up! Someone traded you a pair of Empyreans for your 109s?!?! :flushed:

There’s more to the trade but let’s just say I’ve never seen a set so cheap lol.

Ah, I get it! Good for you though! It may not have been 109s straight up for the Empys, but it sounds like you scored regardless. Gotta love it when the fates conspire to make something happen that you actually want to happen.

Congratulations on the new shinies! The Empyreans are one helluva headphone. :metal::sunglasses:

Man it was meant to be plus it came with a sweet norne cable. I gotta say I’m loving them and will sit nicely with my Atrium and HE1K.

What a beautiful piece of kit. Congratulations on your new functional art piece, man!

(I think them being functional disqualifies them as being a work of art but look at them!)

Didn’t buy, but traded. I am sending out a set of Elex’s today in trade for a Valhalla tube amp with Many tubes. Hopefully have it by next weekend.

Congrats! Interested to hear your comparison with the two on the wall,
especially for classical.

I’ll be interested to see what yo think of them. The HD800S is a headphone I’m still working to figure out as far as signal chain matching and musical pairings, but when I have cracked that code a few times it’s pretty incredible! Congrats! :+1::sunglasses:

Wahl peanut clippers for face maintenance, but also because if enough middle and upper schoolers sign up for the school’s charity 5k I’ll shave my head. If not enough sign up I’ll keep shrinking the target, I’ll do it either way. My hair’s at least 9” measured from my widow’s peak, should be quite the mattress stuffer!

I normally keep my hair buzzed because I sweat a lot drumming, but I have grown it out to about jaw length at this point. Well, guess who else is gonna be shaving his dome when we get to the next hotel? This guy! I don’t know how you made it to 9", but you’re gonna love letting your head breathe.

Cool stunt to do for your class/school, too. I’m betting you’re the cool teacher on campus. :+1::sunglasses:

If I am a cool teacher then I’m in good company on campus! :raised_hands: A guy a couple doors down is a young adult novel author, amongst many other legends and personalities.

It won’t ever get in my face and mouth, showers will be lower maintenance and quicker (fits with the baby coming) and you’re right, it will feel cooler! I won’t sweep the floor doing exercises either :+1:

Sounds like a pretty cool school you’re workin’ at. I’m gonna need a full write-up on your impressions of the new hair cut. Comparisons with a bowl cut, crew cut, mohawk, and monk’s tonsure would be great. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If I shave it all off I might do some funny mid-stages but I’m considering doing a Mohawk for a day or so before completing a full shave, provided getting hair that long to stick out doesn’t take too long to set in the morning!

Huh looks like I can use some hairspray of the right kind I imagined I’d need corn starch or something!

I’d have to do the spikey part when I got to work, I won’t fit in the car otherwise.

I wore a mohawk through a good portion of high school and none of the off the shelf sprays ever worked for me (mine was about a foot tall). Theres a company called Got2B that makes spike glue that you should be able to pick up for a few bucks at you local Target/Walmart/grocery store and that stuff will hold just about anything, even defying gravity and sweat! It does take quite a bit of effort to rinse/wash it out, but anything that holds like that will. You can also do corn starch, wood glue and water, gelatin mixtures, etc. Let me know if you have logistics questions. :metal::sunglasses:

Edit: This is the stuff I’m referring to. It’s crazy strong, but more importantly, it has the right consistency and texture to keep things held up as it dries. It looks like any CVS, Walgreens, Target, etc stilk sells it for between $6 and $7 for a pretty sizeable tube.

Got me curious as to what length I have currently. Straightened out, it measured 36cm, or roughly 14 inches. Not nearly as long in it’s natural form though. It is very tempting to go short again, but after finally managing to get it beyond the awkward phase, I have to savor it for a while longer. Plus i look way better with it long. Man I miss just hopping out of the shower and hair being dry immediately…
