How is the battery of M18i?
Is it possible to use it without battery or will it be used even when plugged in?
Shanling UA6 for example also has an additional battery but it´s also used when used over USB which is a bummer if you ask me
I just got it, but yeah battery might be a weak point. Definitely drains faster than the BTR17. BTR17 lasts a while, especially on LE (low energy) Audio. In PC mode it’ll charge at the same time while listening through USB (without battery, I guess). In phone mode it will drain the battery and not charge to prevent draining the phone (uses battery).
It also has a second ‘charging only’ usb C port on the side. I’ll keep track of how long it lasts from a full charge on LE Audio and let you know tomorrow.
Thanks!
I thought I would buy just one to see what all the fuss is about, and it actually meets expectations!
Congratulations. I haven’t seen a tape reel in… well I can’t say it’s been so long! What a beautiful addition to your collection. Enjoy.
Well, folks, I have done it. I had to do it. I really had no choice.
This is a beautifully done, hand-made piece from Fog City Audio, which is just up the road from me. I’m excited to try it this evening. Let the games begin…
Fog City is great quality and Patrick is good people!
Been eyeing that one to use mith my Gjallarhorn. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts.
Been rocking there adapter for a couple of years now and it’s going strong with almost daily use.
Oh man, you gotta buy one! This thing is beautiful. Mogami throughout. And it works quietly and flawlessly. I’m about to go over to the SJY thread and give an update. I’m gonna buy a headphone cable from him now because he totally nailed it with this adapter!
You gotta get one.
Got a new cable for my Softears Volume S for the microphonics have been bothering me a bit lately and I wanted something that is less microphonic and more customized as well. It’s a copper cable that I order from XINHS and I might do an another one eventually for the Pilgrims once I have the adapter for it.
New AMP day. Decided to try out the Cayin IHA-8. Currently using it with HE6-SE, needed something with drive capability to handle Tungsten when I eventually decide to get them.
Not much information on this amplifier in terms of impressions online but i’m very happy thus far. Seems like a really well designed and quality product with no weird idiosyncrasies or compromises. Was torn between this a Gustard H26 or Aune S17 Pro Evo. Glad I went with this for the smaller footprint and better cooling.
I will give my impressions in due course.
Tried the SRS X1000 recently at an audio event in my city. Had to buy it because it sounded super lovely.
Bought a sampler pack, MS, M, ML, of SednaEarfit Xelastec II. They’re about as ‘sticky’ as new Spinfit W1. Not stupid sticky like originals or Penon Liqueur.
They do conform quite nicely to the shape of ear canal. Very comfortable. Straight ahead neutral sound impact. Isolation is quite good, impressed.
Edit: Sent them back. The sticky got weird after just a couple of uses and no longer sealed nor conformed as well as the first couple uses. The plastic has an odd feeling too…I have too many better tips to keep them
Well, after 12 years I have finally bought the parts needed for my completely new PC.
Rip wallet, around 1430 USD gone.
I bought several $20-$25 Tozo brand BT TWS for meditation and podcasts, vocal-only use, but I’m pleasantly surprised by their single DD 12mm I believe is absolutely amazing for <$25. Sure, a wired IEM is better sound-wise but I didn’t want any wires to fuss with for this use case and some of the $50 IEMs I’ve tried were way more offensive. Had EQ too.
Kind of silly I’ve got $9 Spinfit Omni on a $20 TWS but it works
I should probably give them 100 hours before I judge them ‘sarcasm’
