My wallet will prolly kill me in my sleep tonight. I just got a great deal for all of it on sale.
Binary EP321
Bass could be better. Treble is on the whispy side, but very “detailed” or at least the treble is contoured to bring out detail to a hyperreal degree… Both on foams I prefer the treble of this over the Z1R, make of that what you will**. Natural, no, but I’ve heard less from sets 3-4x the price retail. Still need to give it some time to simmer, but pleasantly surprised.
As an amusing aside, I had pull the pins out and flip the IEMs over correctly. What were they thinking
.
HEDD D1
What comes off as a more complete HD600 to my ears (better bass extension, excellent mids, detailed.) Mostly comfortable and light, but ended throwing a headphone strap at the top because the top “padding” flanking the left and right was a bit annoying.
Bought a new cable because my custom cable started having issues. Went with the Dunu Lyre Mini because I was able to snag it on sale for around $10.
Also got a portable touch screen monitor that I will be using as a display capture for filming setups. It’s 1440p resolution and 14inches. got it for less than $60
And this last one I didn’t buy myself but is a gift from my SO.
Love the Lyre Mini, for $10 that’s an absolute steal!
I was actually afraid of it being very microphonic because of the sleeving but it hardly has any. I love how comfy the cable is for me as my custom cable before had really large ear hooks and would often get in the way of my glasses. the Lyre mini is so snug that my glasses just fit into place.
Gotta love those mini monitors. I just despise that it seems all of them are glossy…i guess its cuz they are from laptop screens perhaps…
I use this one, its pretty matt, good colors and overall eay to work with
The glossy part comes from the screen being a touch screen. They added a protective layer which is glossy. I have their non touch variant and it’s matte. It’s main use is the monitor for my older home lab, to make it easier for trouble shooting stuff.
I have a matte finish one from nearly 2 years ago we use in our van for streaming video et al. Excellent image quality for the $. Laptop is source that lives in a cabinet with just the display mounted externally. Wish they were available or I knew about them years ago…
This one, it’s not available on Amazon US anymore but may be available elsewhere: Amazon.com: MNN Portable Monitor 15.6inch FHD 1080P USB C HDMI Gaming Ultra-Slim IPS Display w/Smart Cover & Speakers,HDR Plug&Play, External Monitor for Laptop PC Phone Mac (15.6'' 1080P) : Electronics
hmmm that is interesting. Should have gone for the non-touch on my 13.3 4k AMOLED one from VCHANCE then…I have it on my main pc and it is tilted upward and thats kinda where my ceiling light is…i managed to reduce the reflection from it but its kinda like a mirror…
I ordered this cable from XINHS and now I recently got it. Man, it looks even prettier in person compared to the shop’s pictures and screenshots with this one. Not bad for the price as well, for I paid for like $10-15 for this? Since I have this cable customized as well by talking to XINHS.
Man the cable is thick, it feels premium and really blends well with my Mega5P Ultras. Overall I like it.
Wanted to try the Penon Liqueur O in L XL XL.
As I’ve ran with Divinus Velvets, Dunu S & S and Foam tips. These has probably been the best balanced tips I’ve tried with my SM4. The S&S just don’t seal properly for me. The Divinus I love using but they don’t have XL size so getting the seal right just takes a lot of adjusting. It’s the reason I’ve ran with foam tips (KBEAR FT01) just for the perfect seal I get. With the Penon Liqueur O I get a perfect seal with the XL and even with the L sizes. They are tacky as well which I like similar with the Sedna Xelastecs. They give a warmth and balanced sound but also helps tame the sibilance of the SM4 similar to foam tips.
I am going to purchase the Divinus Velvet eartips because I keep hearing how good they are.
you either love them or despise them due to how they’re constructed with a ridge
Thanks for pointing out the ridge near the bottom of the umbrella.
Christmas bonus was a bit more than expected. Even though I stepped out of the gear game for a while (some big costs on the house coming up), I afforded myself a small sin.
Bought two items at the moment and I am planning to buy an another set soon. The first ones are ear tips, left one is the Harmonic Empire Sonic River ear tips which are a really great set and the second one is the JCAlly EM05, and these tips are really WEIRD.
Finally the Belles, I thought at first I have received the wrong color, for the box shows that the Belles are white, but after opening, it’s the correct color for I ordered black. First impressions? Smooth tuning, works on every genre, comfortable fit and the technicals are quite good for its price.
An another one, a new IEM set and a New Year. The Yu9 Que, the hyped IEM set but for me, yeah it’s a really great set but there is a single thing that stopped it from winning me over, it’s simple, the fit just does not work for me and that is unfortunate. The overall sound presentation for me despite some caveats sounding a bit artificial and metallic, the technical prowess of this IEM is showcased really well along with the detail goodness of it. But yeah, the fit was the disappointing thing about it, at least my best friend is willing to trade for it, once he gets a IEM set that I will like since he is currently overseas having a vacation.
I would have had automatically loved this set if it not for the fit and the stock cable being just crappy overall.
Shame about the fit, seems to be a miss for a lot of people due to that.
