What did you buy today? (Part 2)

Perhaps try some Tang Sancai eartips to deal with the driver flex issue. I might get the Wan’er Red Lion just for the cable.

I put a pair on but the flex is pretty pronounced. I am going to use the cable, and the tips that came with it are nice, since it comes with Sancai tips.

This was my first Tangzu since the Xuan Nv, and my first IEM with driver flex since 2020, so I was a bit disappointed.

I dunno if a pocket size e-reader with a.i. assist could ever be cool, perhaps in a geeky bookish way perhaps

Bought myself a Viwoods A.I.Paper Reader for no other reason than I’ve been reading on my iPhone and iPad but I think it’s hurting my eyes so thought I’d try out an e-ink display - I’m just the wrong side of 50 and don’t yet need glasses so I don’t wish to damage/strain my vision reading lcd/oled

Rather apt reading choice

The thin plastic clip on case is not MagSafe so I stuck a MagSafe ring on the rear

This MagSafe finger loop is useful

The Viwoods case is £40 so I bought the Boox Palma case and with the attached MagSafe ring it works great- cd sleeve for size comparison- the Viwoods is the size of my iPhone 17

I have an older ( before they did color models ) Kobo Clara BW and I really like it. It has a wider screen and beefy bezels, but has been well worth the small amount ( $120 ) that I paid for it.

Hisense Touch is the almost the perfect smartphone-shaped ereader/dap IMO as it also has a named dac&amp in it with a 3.5mm. Sadly it does not have sd card and is discontinued…but could have been gotten for around 200 usd before.

But yeah eink helps a ton even for younger people. (im 26 but do have glassess.)

This thread has been shockingly quiet lately.

I got a few 2-pin IEM cables for Ziigaat sets ( Odyssey, Lush, and Arcadia ).

I also got a Fiio JM21 DAP, interruption free listening is hard to beat, plus hardware playback buttons.

got a Noble Sceptre (BT transmitter) a very mixed bag for me lol, probably great for a older dap/phone you want to use newer BT features with. I’ve mostly been using it to play around with my BTR15 from my PC.

seems a bit cheaper than the competitors (questyle etc) but not sure if they work the same way (pairing to another BT device through the app before you can use it) so ideal use with 1 BT headphone/device you bring everywhere I guess

I have had this TSMR Onyx set for a little over a week now and wanted to spend some time with it before giving my thoughts. To be honest, I did not think that I’d like them as much as I do simply because of the non-vented shells that, at first, nearly felt like my eardrum was being flexed to Arnold Schwarzenegger levels when using them with my usual go-to tips, the Dunu S&S’s. I was on a hunt to find the perfect fit, keep the tonal characteristics of the IEM’s tuning intact, and to lessen the pressure buildup to wear them comfortably. Enter my new go-to tips for non-vented IEMS, the TANGZU Tang Sancai Balanced types. Now, I felt like I could give these a proper listen. :pinched_fingers:

I find that the tasteful U-Shaped sound signature couple with the DD for lows, twin Knowles for mids, and another DD to handle the highs was something I had to get used to coming from the usual BA hybrids that I had in the past. I wasn’t missing all of that, as it turns out. Everything blends so well together that it sounds friggen fantastic to my ears. They market this as a “gaming” set but it works equally well with any music you can throw at it. I will say, it’s not a “bass head” or “treble head” set, but it sounds great with its balanced and organic sound signature. The DD used for highs is also a welcome addition and leaves any BA timbre in the rearview mirror.

If you were on the fence and have heard about these from other forum members, even on the other forum (like me), I can tell you it is not “unicorn” unique, but it is pretty special in its own right imho…especially for this price! I am now looking for an aftermarket cable to grace it with, and I have an idea of one that I have been meaning to try for a few years… Have a great weekend everyone! :musical_notes:

Hello people, it has been a while ever since I posted anything new. To keep it short, I bought these 2 IEMs separately. The Xenns Top Pro came first that I bought from a friend and then eventually I sold my Letshuouer Ember, using that earned money for the Xenns Tea Pro which I also bought from an another friend. These 2 sets do not disappoint at all and they have been amazing so far.

Crinear Reference & Technics AZ100

The Reference, as the name suggests, gets out of the way of the music. No complaints to be had, and aligns with my treble preferences. The AZ100, updated with the “Treble+” preset (fixes the mids) and paired with aftermarket foam tips, is my favorite TWS experience so far. The software is excellent, with great ambient mode and noise cancelling. Lots of QoL improvements coming from the Aurvana Ace 2.

The included tips for the AZ100 are interesting, and I need to tinker with them more. The core has a rectangular section that suspends a foam filter, and I’ve been able to swap the foam with ones I already have on hand. Long story short, two of my IEMs now use them, since they combine the seal and bass retention of silicone with the treble dampening of foam (though it doesn’t quell all the peaks.)

Regarding the Reference, if I were to place some topical neutral~ish IEMs on a continuum: Volume S is bass-emphasized and thick-sounding; Magic One is more neutral, with less bass and greater clarity; Reference has more subdued treble and less bass than the Magic One, fully non-offensive; Binary EP321 is even leaner than Reference, with more treble emphasis (on foams, I can’t do silicone with these, disregard bass comment otherwise.)

The closest IEMs that I have with something close to reference tuning is the Dunu Kima 2 since it does a good job of separating the bass from the rest of the music. I also really like the Kima 2’s inoffensive treble which is perfect for my ears.

Man, I love neutral as a tuning overall.

Had these Shot Zen Kensho dart barrels converted to screw point, now looking sweet with their longer points :bullseye:
