They are basically a cheaper and very slightly different version of the Kennerton Gjallarhorn headphones. They are sounding really amazing so far…I can very easily recommend them.
6 weeks after the order was made, I got my Innuos Zenmini Mk.ii streamer and the external power unit.
VERY easy set-up, even though there has been hick-ups with Spotify, but it worrks now and Innuos has promised to set up Deezer for me.
Yes it works re making a more silent environment for digital music. I can hear a clear difference, as long as I am playing hi-res. Mp3 is more or less the same, but FLAC and higher has a more clear sound and I now hear elements in Michael Jacksons “Billie Jean”, I have never heard before.
Is it expensive? Yes (1500 Euro)
Is it worth the cost? Up to you, but for me this is better than another HP or IEM
And it can rip my CD collection quickly and without any need for me to do anything, but slide the cd in. Then It finds the right pictures and store it on the HDD all by it self. Simple but cool.
So my main chain is now:
Zenmini + LPSU → Ares ii → Cayin CS-55A tube amp → Moondrop S8/ZMF Eikon/ZMF Aeolus
I’ve been making some small upgrades lately, and I was really impressed with the Kimber Kable Select series I recently received. So much so that I’ve decided to switch out all of my analog interconnects to Kimber (all of my digital interconnects are already Kimber/Lifatec). I really liked Mogami, but the Kimber are just a better cable, imo. I now understand when people refer to Signal/Noise.
It’s all opinion, but I hear a difference and they look nice. Another cool thing was the unboxing which had some nice little personal touches.
Ordered Denon AH-D5200 on amazon warehouse (as new) for 370€
Gonna try and compare to Sivga Phoenix.
Wait…isn’t this the Kennerton Gajllerhorn just in a different shell? Or supposed to be?
Yup, basicaly!
so I know people read I bought quite a few headphones… two finally came in.
its about to be a great day!
also holy shit this harmonicdyne case is fantastic
Comply tips came for my Etymotics, highly recommend, I can now listen to these without that cringey fit.
It is the Gjallarhorn but without the decorative leather on the outside backing of the cups.
Congratulations on the Innuos unit, my own Purchase was one of the hardest decisions i have made as far as audio is concerned and the most extremely expensive one to justify. Having lived with my unit for a year+ now I can honestly say it was well worth the money and i don’t want to go back to any lesser source. It’s not a night and day difference but once your pallet gets to know it well your ears will know what it is and appreciate it.
Finally got the money together for a pair of zmf headphones
So day 2 with these Dr. Dre’s! I ordered up a replacement cable as the OG cable was basically crap and it came today. A nice Primeda. Kinda blingy in look, but I really like it. I gotta say, it’s almost guilty pleasure listening to these things! But with the nice sound chip in this laptop, the EQ and Amazon HD it’s crazy the sound that is coming out of them. Queued up Boston “Foreplay/Long Time” and Holy crap! It’s amazing! And a totally different experience from my HD280 Pros going through my MX-3. I’m having fun!
Thx
And yes, it really makes a difference, so I am a happy camper! I understand why the cost can stop a lot people to go in this direction, but I really find it worth the cost.
You are the only other I am aware of, who has one, so we are in an exclusive little club
Just got in a pretty nice haul to spend my vacation days with. Thieaudio legacy 4, blon bl-03 (really sticking with the typos and weird words aren’t they lol), xelastec tips and Sony ep-ex10a tips.
My matched pair of Philips ECG JAN 6922 just arrived. They are true NOS and only opened for testing. Popped them into the MLP for 3 hours before listening. They sound really really good. I dont think I like them more than my Siemens 7308, but I do like them more than the Amperex PQ Gold Pin tubes.
I can’t believe it! Another headphone find. I came across these just yesterday while going through some other stuff. They are the Plantronics BT8200
Quite the surprise. They sound great, they are Bluetooth, have a built-in mic and have active noise cancelling. Man, good thing I didn’t start actively shopping for headphones!
Bought a very lightly used pair of Sennheiser HD 560s last night for $135.
Love them so far. Flat as a Nebraska cornfield and detailed as hell. The perfect complement to my rich, warm Meze 99 Classics.
