What did you buy today? (Part 2)

Update: this thing is an absolute beast. App control so no more crawling on the ground to adjust levels, phase etc is a godsend. 17hz is no joke!

A few things have come in since I’ve last posted here. Finally got my Monoprice Liquid Platinum (holy crap does it push a lot of power balanced, using it mainly with my argons atm). Also got a xlr switch so I can go from my Jot 2 to the LP easily. And finally got a couple of siemens a-frame toobs for the LP.

I didn’t spend enough time with them before I did the mod, just made sure they weren’t faulty before I did something potentially irreversible. If it does, it’s probably not a massive change.

Those are some good tubes, never had a bad experience with them. Good pick!

I had a fun day today doing some experimentation with the gear. I’ve been looking to upgrade the DAC that runs my Head Phone setup (I’m currently using my MX-3 with the SP200). So I hooked up the SU-8 to see if I could hear a difference. And… YES! YES! As nice as that little Topping is, the SU-8 sounds so much better.

So, given my budget restriction coupled with my desire to try an AK-based DAC, I ordered up the SP200’s mate, the M200 while there was still a few left. I’m also gonna get a digital interface so I can feed it with fiber and not have to run straight up USB or BT. But I might start with BT just to try out LDAC. I’m excited! Should be here next week.

Bought this big Nujabes (and Uyama Hirohoto/Shing02) poster! Artwork done by U/Elsortudo who was kind enough to sell me the digital image to print. Looks really nice in my room and so far from what i can tell dosen’t affect the sound too much since it’s a thin sheet of plastic instead of glass

Nujabes is dope! The Samurai Champloo soundtrack is on my vinyl wishlist.

Hello,
It’s not always about new audio products, it’s also important to do something for yourself.
Back to the roots.

Something has happened in this area too and is becoming more fashionable.
For some it’s all in a day’s work for others it’s not.
In any case, we forgot how great a shave feels, which has been around for decades.
Better than the system shavers that are available for expensive money.
The investment was worth it and I’ve always wanted to have one .

Ehhhhh, I stopped buying Gillette after the, ah… Marketing debacle they had a while back. Figured I’d try branching out and try other brands. Can’t say that beard maintenance products aren’t a bit confusing for people who are new, and buying every brand to figure out who’s good and who’s not gets expensive.

I can respect that :love_you_gesture:

The main reason was actually that gilette’s quality has declined at these prices.
After 5 times of use the blades are blunt at a price of 3$/€.
And the blades cost 2 $/€ 5 pieces for the razor.
Actually quite happy to be away from the marketing razor.
I have 3 beard oils and that’s enough for quite a while. I bought one 3 months ago and it’s not even half empty.
When they’re empty, I’ll look again to see what else is available, because the market is open and the price is okay.
And certainly a matter of taste :-).

Nice. I’m into (modern) shaving gear too…I won’t get into what I’ve spent on said gear. So much for “saving money by moving away from expensive cartridges and moving to traditional double edge blades.”

Dollar Shave club for me! LOL! Oddly enough, I love the blades. They give a great shave and last a good while. And I like the way the shaver feels in my hand.

Grow a beard and use the $ saved on shaving kit to fund audio purchases!

Yes, Biff, first thing on Sunday I’ll be whizzing over with it.
Even if Biff sleeps longer on Sundays and Mcfly’s shoe is open again.
