A DDC (digital-digital-converter) is used to convert one digital output to another, usually USB to AES, SPDIF, or TOSLINK.
I used mine to split my source signal to multiple DACs (currently down to one DAC), but I also use it as a “Re-Clocker”. It’s also useful for isolating noisy power from PC’s.
Of course, I swapped my front shocks yesterday, so I got a much smoother ride… rather then riding on ones that where so shot, they won’t decompress on their own. Hell, this one has been sitting fully compressed for a full day now.
Got an LP W2 and a second hand Lotoo Paw S1. I bought the S1 only because someone on headfi said that the S1 can be better depending on the synergy, and I kinda can see that. Here is the size comparison between BTR5, S1 and W2
A new dap (after warranty-ing a faulty unit) Hiby r6 2020.
And a step towards building a 2 channel system.
I am working on a Cowon Plenue S as well to compare to the hiby. I am a big Cowon fan and i want to show the worth of a music only dap and see if older hardware holds up. After this i will decide which dap i will be keeping.
Pinging @M0N as he helped with some guidance and talking points over the past year and helped me side step a bit of money waste. Thank you M0N
Just got a Questyle M12. I thought I wouldn’t be able to find it, but apparently my local shop got several in stock. It’s really small compared to the other dongles that I have, but unfortunately since it’s single ended, the whole setup becomes a little bit bulky because I need to use an adapter for my IEMs.
Hmm I kinda don’t like their auto-gain feature. Would be nice if I can control it. The lack of volume control is also a downer for me, but besides these two, it’s pretty good.
Edit: I got a pretty bad clipping every time I use the M12 with my phone. No matter what the volume is, the clipping seems to persist. Maybe the M12 simply need more power out of the USB than the others.
It’s probably because my phone has a weak USB power output. I use Oneplus 5T for context. I don’t have this problem if I use my laptop. So, I guess people with older phone should watch out for this problem.
These arrived from Japan and I was not expecting much from it in terms of sounds for I only bought it for the ear tips. But despite not expecting anything from this, I am actually impressed by its neutral warm-ish sound despite it not being technical to some degree. Sure it does not have that much detail, the bass is not that detailed as well and the soundstage at best is average, but it’s not that actually bad in fact it’s pretty decent for the price and I like the E1000s.
Still playing around with placement of some of the gear but just got a pair of Adam Audio T5V’s and Soundrise Pro-9 stands to hold them. Also got a cheap but decent arm and shock mount for my Yeti X on Amazon…
Last production amplifier out of the Eddie Current shop, he is just about done and retired. One really big MF and there is a seperate power supply not captured in the picture. I need to pull everything off the desk and come up with a configuration that will fit this beast or just go into a different room completely and not even bother with the desk, undecided currently.
Lol…the bottom box is the large scale tie fighter And the top is an AT-ST walker i think…the chicken walker…a nice one. Both part of a larger collection, i’ve run out of room to display them…unless i repurpose the dining room🤔
