What did you watch today?

Ballad of Buster Skruggs on Netflix. It’s a series of novellas all set in the American Old West & contains elements of Cohen brothers type comedy & in the title episode; a singing cowboy gun slinger. His horse is named Dan.

Bosch is a great police detective series on Amazon Prime. It’s got a bit of everything; humor, tragedy, action, suspense.

Bad Batch & Mandalorian on Disney+ seem pretty good to me.

I mostly stick to comedy, under the circumstances of modern times. Old comedies are the best comedies. Its amazing they havent been cancelled yet by the woke mob.

Found a true classic from Disney.
Oh the laughs!

The tender bar. 8/10

Watched THIS!

This turned out to be a better production than I figured it would be. Props to Kevin Costner, they are doing a very good job with this series.

Watched “The frech dispatch” yesterday…

I really like Wes Anderson films as he has an unique style of both visuals and camerawork. He has lots of eccentric characters and somewhat elaborate dialogue. Mostly his films are cute, whimsical and quirky. The french dispatch i felt scored high on the style of the visuals, but lacked a bit of the whimsical and funny, though it was quirky enough  The movie is divided into 3 main parts, and for me last part was probably the closest to what i expected of this movie. For me, it was one of the weaker Wes Anderson movies, but still an enjoyable experience.

Im watching but the set pieces take me out of the show. You can tell the film crew went hog wild with the lowes store card.

Watched Sing 2 with the fam - really enjoyed it.

Might be late to the party, I just discovered this 2015 show in December, but I recommend Defiance (on Amazon). It’s a Western-themed sci-fi, no elements I could call “woke” in it (nothing about pronouns or genders), and lots of well-developed characters that really grew on me. I hope they continue it someday.

Peacemaker 8/10

I was surprised to see a series about Peacemaker after he was killed off as a bad guy in the movies.

If I remember correctly there was an end credit scene showing Peacemaker surviving

yes…the first episode opens up with him in the hospital ad the doctor amazed how little he was hurt after being shot and having a building fall on him. I tried watching it but the language was horrific.

Ozarks, 8.5/10

Just finished my re-run of Star Trek Voyager, so now there is the original series and enterprise left as i’ve already done TNG and DS9.

Before i start the next star trek series, i do tend to catch up on “boba fett” and “peacemaker”. I would also like to start on “better call Saul” and “Ozark” as i mostly heard very positive remarks about those shows. I’m also trying to find a good comedy show, but most “sitcoms” really don’t appeal that much to me, but a typical 21min episode comedic show would be great to fill those moments when you just cant manage spendig twice the time in a “drama show”.

Good comedy shows are rare these days. Anyway I like these “older” shows:

and while I’m at it I want to mention some of my favorite shows that I don’t find often on best-of lists.

The British original is better than the US version:

Low budget sci-fi but I love it:

I was in the middle of season six of Voyager myself, but now it’s off of Amazon Prime as well. Now that both Netflix and Amazon booted the series I guess I’ll have to get Paramount plus to finish it.

What We Do In The Shadows is easily my favorite comedy show to come out in the past 4-5 years.

Here in Norway it is still available on Netflix, but i guess its a matter of time…

What we do in the shadows was great as a movie at least, but i have not watched the tv-series yet…

The series is better than the movie for me personally. Both great though

Been through quite a few of those series, and Justified is one of my favorite tv-series ever. Season 3 with the “downfall” of Robert Quales (played by Neal McDonough) is just great…
