It’s going to be a busy October for reviewers. Great time to be alive for audio enthusiasts IMO. A flood of new gear also means a flood of used gear. A very joyous holiday season for all.

With the amps I have or on their way I’m not sure I’ll use the 789. That is what sucks waited I mean waiting for it to come. If massdrop doesn’t fix their production process people will just buy monoprice version. Which is going to happen as I don’t see the 789 as special anymore. Since ordering 789 I bought gsx mini, violectric v281 and ZMF Pendant. This hobby will end my marriage.

Yeah tbh, I think those amps best the 789 imo. Also as an aside holy crap I want to get an audiovalve for my stax but I have to wait for one to come around at a more reasonable price where I live

It is just my opinion imo
gsx mini is more then three times the price of 789. It’s built like a tank and the sound signature maybe something you like or don’t. For headphone example my Verite are warm and the mini brings the treble up compared to my ifi pro ican without sacrificing the warmth of Verite. When I get the 789 I can compare the two. From memory I had the 788(using the dac) which was a good amp. I’m hoping 789 is better then 788.

M570 were in stock. The others had various ETA stock dates from November through December.
12/12 for the $499 and $599 headphones (model numbers escape me).

I decided to order the M570, because why not? I didnt like the M565 at all. So umm let’s hope this is better.

Mon, out of curiosity what did you dislike about the M560’s?
The build and feel was great, and the concept of both closed and open was appealing, but the sound didn’t do it for me. Just didn’t sound right to me. It’s been a while since I heard it, so I don’t think I could give an accurate description, but it just wasn’t for me. I don’t think its a bad headphone, just wasn’t my preference at the time
I spent the past week working on a mod to get different pads on them that actually mate to the headset. They sound better w/ ZMF cowhides. They are still bright but no longer painful, brought out the bottom end up a good deal too. They seem to need power tho, that or I am just going deaf and listen too loudly…
M570 have been received and reviewed.
Z should be getting a pair soon-ish. I’ll see if I can convince myself to let these go for a while so DMS can review them.
