yes, I watched your video. but need more input to make an educated decision.

It looks like it would sound like Blon. Looks like same pads and not much difference in construction. I’d be surprised if the tuning didn’t match which I’m hoping it doesn’t. I like the dark wood the best out all three.

I saw my first review of the hf 580 through you, now I’ve seen the m570 review through you as well, so I said why not and subscribed. I’ve had the sundara for over 3 weeks and don’t know if I should take it back and get the m570. What are the differences between the 2? I think the sundara is phenomenal and love the the highs, punchy bass, and transient response it delivers.

If I judge off of the sendy, I would say that the sendy is more detailed in the high end, but lacking in the midrange performance. I think the sundara has better layering and separation, also with a bit wider soundstage. Personally I would keep the sundara if you are satisfied with it, because imo it’s not going to be a crazy leap in performance from the sundara, but it is probably a more aggressive treble detail in your face headphone from the sundara.

Honestly I was thinking of keeping it as well. The problem I have with the sendy, blons, and m570’s is the recessed mids and aggressive treble. The highs might be too much for me but the sundara is perfect to me when it comes to the highs.

Yeah if you like good midrange I don’t think the sendy driver types would be the best upgrade. I think the focal elex would be better in that regard if you wanted an upgrade from the sundara

700$ that’s up their, but i was considering the m1570 or m1070. If only they would of came out now…lol! I’m actually willing to buy headphones that expensive.

Also very curious how the m1570 and 1070 will turn out, very curious to see if they did a good job with the clone lol

Genuinely curious on the 1070’s. Looking at a potential replacement for my Phantoms…

I got the M570 today. It’s way heavier than advertised. It weighs 523 grams on my scale not 420 as listed.

Overall, i think it sounds good thus far. The mids are slightly recessed though. Highs have sizzle but doesnt seem fatiguing to me. I havent really listened at high volume yet.

These are much better than the STOCK phantoms, but after modding, i think they’re close. The Phantoms are still a bit darker sounding than these are.

The weight is pretty heavy for me though… They look great though.

Oh, and someone mentioned Elex. yes. Elex is great. Best headphone for its price.

I just don’t think the sendy or other sendy driver types are beating out headphones over 1k, or even at the price of the sendy. I would say that the sundara competes with the sendy and other sendy driver types. And if you go to 700, the elex exists and is a step above the sendy drivers. I just don’t get the whole “it competes with headphones over 1000” talk

It’s still a great headphone and now at a more appropriate price, but I don’t think it’s really as amazing as people make it out to be

That’s proving an interesting task for me so far.

I have recently purchased the following headphones to compare to the Phantom:

HD 6XX
Focal Elex
Argon MKII
Neumann NDH20

Surprisingly the set that comes the closest for me is the NDH20’s. I haven’t a bad word to say about the Elex. Such a smooth, solid headphone in so many areas. A pleasure.

What specifically has me reaching for the Phantom over the other headphones is the realism of the instruments. Terrible at describing sound, but for example on the song "Come To My Window - Melissa Etheridge, at the beginning you can hear that tambourine so nice and clear. The opening guitar part sounds very full and realistic. The snare drum kills me. It sounds like I’m at the county fair (in the best way) a few feet away from the band. The strike is like pop, pop. Precise. Super realistic compared to the other headphones.

That’s the detail that keeps me coming back. I think I’m starting to notice the veil some have mentioned w/the Phantom, but it doesn’t bother me. Actually it makes me feel like everything is at a good distance where on other headphones, the music seems to up close and I have to turn it down.

If you find something that just destroys the Phantom around $1,000 or under, I’d love to give it a try. Likely another sidegrade, but gonna hopefully try Hifiman 560SE V3 soon.

I am starting to enjoy them a lot more than I started off on. Actually like the dark sound when I don’t want to think when listening to the music and just chill but then when you switch off it reminds you what it can do and surprises you.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said replace…

Will know when I get the 1070s whether I want to keep either or both.

HE5SE or HE560 v3? I would only consider the he560v1 or the 5se since the v2 or v3 of the 560 is not as good

Hifiman HE-560 V3 was the listing. Rats! I already pulled the trigger. Hopefully I’ll get something out of it. I was definitely getting mixed reviews and now I’m even more concerned.

On the bright side, I read so many reviews and watched tons of youtube videos on the Neumann NHD20 where I thought I knew what to expect. They ended up blowing me away.

Hopefully this will be a similar experience? :grimacing:

No, I get it. I’m kind of on the same mission. If it ends up being the last standing, so be it.

That snare sounds pretty damn good on my P1’s even back to back with the Phantoms.
