What Is happening?! M1570, M1070, M570 from Monoprice THX AAA 887 Too!

It’s not really lacking in any departments. Just that I’m digging myself deeper into the rabbit hole, knowing that I can get better. Seeing people comparing the 1570s to top of the line stuff has caught my attention.

I’ve since switched to the velour pads that were included and made them a completely different headphone. More pronounced mids, tamed trebles but the bass department is severely lacking.

I’ve ordered the ZMF eikon suedes, hoping I’ll find middle ground between the leathers and the velours. More pronounced mids with the tamed highs and keeping the bass response of the leathers.

I personally don’t think the m1570 can compete with any totl stuff, but I would say it competes within the 1k and under range imo

What about the LCD X’s M0N? What’s your take on the M1570s vs those?

I would personally take the lcd x over the m1570 for sure, unless you really wanted a more prominent midrange, but I would just go for the lcd 2 at that point imo

I think the m1570 preforms very well in it’s price bracket, but I don’t think it’s some giant killer. Overall I think the m1570 is a pretty solid choice if you think it would match your preferences

What about the sound of them compared to a meze empyrean. I have been eye banging those since I first seen them. Debating if I should save for a month or two to buy a set.

what’s out there for reviews / impressions on the M1570’s? have they turned out to be anything like a $600 LCD-3?

also, I wonder what’s up with the Sparl DAC. was supposed to come out end of Nov and now the release date has been pushed back into February!

Well, tbh the meze is just a full step ahead. I think they are probably as much as most people could ask for (although I personally wasn’t the largest fan lol). I think you should go try and hear them before you buy though at that price range

Unfortunately not to me lol. I think they are something I would rather have instead of the lcd 2 classic (unless you like a darker signature), but I think the lcd 2 is a better headphone, so not really close to lcd3 territory imo

how can you say they’re probably what most people would like, but you didn’t care for them?

your experience and impressions are a benchmark as the opinions you’ve shred tend to be the same as others.

I just was mainly saying that I didn’t feel like I wanted to own them with what I have already, not that I didn’t enjoy them

I try and make sure I don’t own headphones that serve a similar purpose

I should also say that the meze is an excellent all rounder, and I already have some all rounders, and wanted something that excelled in some areas but not others. The meze is more of something I would own if I didn’t have other headphones

For anyone that wants an M1070 and need an amp.

You can get the M1070 at regular price and add Liquid Spark for $10 using coupon code: MM100 (you have to buy both)

Wow that’s a pretty solid deal imo. That’s a pretty great setup if you add a nice dac (although I am assuming the m1070 is good lol since I haven’t heard it)

I read that as you could get both for just $10. Was like whoa what a deal ; p

Isn’t the Element 2 just the Atom + an updated DaC?

Edited to avoid the confusion.

They also have a deal for $150 off a purchase of both the M1570 and a Liquid Platinum. But nah.

my bad, I meant to say Spark DAC…corrected my post. Mono had the Spark DAC due out on the 21st of Nov…then pushed back to Decmber and when I looked the other day, ETA is not until February now. :stuck_out_tongue:

Btw which pads are you currently on atm? You have the ZMF Eikon Suedes? If I’m going to Upgrade, I’m thinking if those will work since I have them on the way

I have the dekoni Lcd2c suedes on the m1570. I switched back to the stock pads though at the moment.

looks like you found the sound signature for yourself, warm headphones. for me its the opposte, i like the cooler headphones.

From the NTR it sounds like the M1570 is much better than the LCD2. And dont they come with some kind of warranty? But it sounds like the M1570 is a warm headphone, are they dark? or just warm? do the velour pads make them cooler?

I dont agree with his reasons to buy the LCD2 over the m1570. except the quality reason. if a company can sell me a headphone for 400$ cheaper than another for essentially the same product, im going with that. i’m not so well to do that i can ignore that. and im pretty sure they will drop the price of the m1570 some day.
