Good to know, I was actually going to get this one soon. Will follow the patch release schedule and maybe try it afterward. Hope they can fix some of the issues (and others) that you’ve mentioned.
I might reinstall and finally play through Alien Isolation all the way while I wait… Need to prepare the heart a bit beforehand though with all of the scripted jump scares in that one, haha!
Yeah man, this game had potential to be a game of the year, I know it’s a stretch but with a lot of proper optimization and handling on the PC port, this game is gonna be one of the best games I have ever played. But for now that is a pipedream, but I hope it gets a Cyberpunk 2077 treatment, when it eventually became one of the best games ever.
With that being said however, games should not be damn broken when it gets released!!
True, most of them only care for one thing, money. Which is a resource that in the long run, they’re not gonna take with once they have gone back to dust again. Then again, no one ever is satisfied for us humans wanted infinite things in a world that is finite.
I will cut GSC some slack, I assume that finding workers in Kyiv has been “complicated” over the last couple years. My guess is that if you are a physically capable young man in Ukraine, you might have other important things to do. QA tester vs drone pilot is probably a wash on pay, and the job satisfaction of blowing up Russian tanks has to be pretty tough to beat.
That is true, the damn war sucked for everyone, especially to the innocents who have lost their lives and have nothing to do with that bullshit. Also RIP to one of the devs of STALKER 2 who passed away years ago, thanks to this bullshit war. It’s overall unfortunate.
Ok so, I have given Stalker 2 an another try again, but this time getting the latest “patch” I am calling it that for it’s not a patch when it’s like fucking 134GB size, more like “reinstall the game” and as well as added some mods for it, particularly making the game much more stable, smooth, have more frames and less bullshit from the initial game. With those installed, I must say I can run the game much better now and it’s at least playable now, better than the non-modded version.
But, but if you install mods just to make the game playable, that means the games is still half-baked and it still frustrates me that I have to do that method in order for the game that you’re waiting for a long time, playable and less of a broken mess.
Yeah, so many games do that to keep the difficulty about right. Games like Oblivion and Skyrim showed it could be done right.
I do think that in Grim Dawn that is the skill / resistance check, so I just sort of accept that I will feel a couple difficulty spikes that are time to sort out gear, and maybe respec some skill. Also it keeps the enemies high enough level to allow XP and reputation grinding on them.
I absolutely agree with this.
Most of the game designers I met, while I was doing games and simulation work, got into the business by being modders first. It does mean they think critically about what systems need to be tweaked to make thing better, so it sort of makes sense.
to play devil’s advict - if there ever was a studio that it would be understandable it would be GSC, a lot of their staff is still in Ukraine and delaying by a significant amount would probably be pretty devastating financially.
Not saying its right but in this case i’d its understandable
…Yeah that’s what sucks about it and the development of the game was clearly affected thanks to that bullshit, not just the development of the game, the lives in general of the innocent are being affected and ruined due to some circumstances that they don’t have control about.
Hence I still gotta call what it is, it’s still half-baked, and I might be insane saying this but I think it would have been better if they could’ve had just delayed the game for an another year, instead releasing it back in 2024, they should’ve had settled releasing it this year which is 2025, but then again it’s impossible since the higher ups are the ones forcing them to release the game, even though the devs know that the game still needs more work on debugging, optimization and polishing.
In this case i dont think it would have been possible (they already delayed it twice), at the end of the day they arent a large studio and another year with the war going on would probably kill the studio, 0 income while stretching resources and trying to develop a game remotely, basically COVID but even more problematic since you even your own home isnt safe.
I wonder how it would have been if they released it as an early accesses to help squash bugs, but that would probably hurt the buttom line too, so you never know
Started out with “Satisfactory” during my Holiday break from work, and first impressions are great. Took a few hours to get the hang of how to set things up, and then i used a few hours exploring the surrounding area (and getting a bit lost). Only problem is that during the week i have a hard time prioritizing spending time on it, as it is not a 15-30min session when you first sit down with it
Also, i still have a lot to learn about it, so my “factory” is proper spaghetti with powerlines and conveyor belts going everywhere, but thats part of the charm i guess
Agreed, that is one of my problems with most of the factory automation titles. I have a hard time carving out even a 1 hour time block during the week. Lately I have had a weekday game, and a weekend game, plus whatever I am playing with my wife ( usually on the weekend ).
Currently playing the GoTM over at Reddit(in the r/SBCGaming sub) which is Metroid Fusion for GBA. Its my 2nd time playing it. but it feels fresh since the last time I played it was like 15 years ago. At least.
That and Vagrant Story and Spyro on the psx. VS is a very good rpg so far. I love the fight mechanics. You can chain together different offensive hits. And Spyro is fun. But I can’t wait to finish it and move onto the 2nd one.
I was playing Spyro on a handheld and going for 100% on secrets/collectibles but then the levels that are time limited flying courses showed up - and they count towards the 100% - I managed the early ones but a later one I just feel like I’ll never manage so kind of disheartened me about my completion goal. As someone who had Crash and Croc growing up but never Spyro, I didn’t know what I was missing! Level design is very impressive.
