Lol! Ok that’s good too
The most awesome thing happened when I re-watched @ZeosPantera review of the plus… The Aux plug on the BT module is just a dead plug.
So what?? Well you can plug the BT module in sideways. So you can still use the other ports on the unit while on BT. You can also use a 3.5 female to 3.5 male extension if you want the BT module further away or not directly plugged in. You can charge it while BT is connected, you can use the Aux out while on a BT source.
PS, my BT module came with an L shaped screw driver and more screws for the volume guard. Maybe they added that after his review. So its unfortunate because he could have done the Burson opamp swap.
T6 is smaller than most people have… nice to know its included… how does the bt module sound compared to wired?
It sounds fine to me, I cant really hear a difference. I havent done a lot of wireless listening to be honest. But based on my short tests on aptxHD, aptx/LL, AAC, and LDAC there was no immediately glaring difference in sound quality. I was mainly listening to the highs, since that is where they say BT compression falls apart.
Sources: my android phone and smart tv for LDAC and aptx variants, my iphone and ipad for AAC, same FLAC files accross things except on the TV where I just tested for latency.
After more listening, I think there is something to the Ak4493EQ on the XD-05. It does sound different than my sanskrit on a AK4490…
Listening again to my CA Orions, which i had stored away, it made me ask myself, “why did i need other IEMs?” coz they sound really good on the XD-05 plus and no hiss contrary to what I was expecting. Same sort of thing listening to my HD558 they sound real good.
Maybe my hearing is that bad already.
I don’t use mine with iems, mostly with headphones. Normally I use the Topping Nx3s with iems. I’ll have to try more.
Will this cable work to get the coaxial digital output of my D10 into the XD-05?
It might work, but to be safe I would go with something like this
Reason being is I have tested the xduoo with 3.5mm trs and not 3.5mm ts for coax, not sure if the mono would work properly
The picture showing the pin out looks like the ring is unused. For $6 I’ll be a lab rat and see if mono works. Thanks for the alternative if it doesn’t.
Yeah it should work, but who knows lol. Fiio is stupid and uses some trrs 3.5mm coax cables so I typically play it safe
This cable DOES work with the xDuoo xd-05.
[OPA2228PA] .
Froget about the burson v5i and its expensive price, buy this opamp and you’ll have sun shine through your ears
I have both and have used the v5i for 6 months and today I have received this [OPA2228PA] op amp and damn… I’m now pissed because the v5i was expensive! This is around 1/3 the price and has better mids, highs and calmer lows. Listening to vinyl on this through the schiit mani is just amazing. I never comment on these forums but this new op amp really pushed me forward to pass on the word.
I’m also quite fond of the BB OPA627 (singles)
I just saw Zeos’ DT880 600Ohm review…and on the side I do spy the XD-05 with the BT module like I have it with just the one side plugged in.
It seams like I am to stupid to figure this out.
HOW DO I CONNECT MY IPHONE TO THE XD-05+?
I have already used 2 different Lighting to USB-C cables, used Apples Original Lightning to USB-A with two different USB-A to USB-C adapters. It never recognizes my iPhone.
It works flawless with my iPad Pro…
Is there some sort of firmware update Ii haven’t head of jet? Or do I really need xduoos own cable?
From what I’ve heard it’s more of an Apple OTG problem, not only with xDuoo but with more devices…
i had the ipad. and yeah the ipad works flawlessly with that type of stuff. however to my knowledge it’s because they have really messed with the software to play nice with stuff connected to the port like a normal computer. While lighting devices are still pretty closed in, so it might be harder. Altho… hmmm i feel like someone had a similiar issue but fixed it lol. so maybe i’m wrong. wish the best of luck. Could buy a 50 dollar cheap android and use it instead
The weird thing is, that xDuoo says that the xd05+ is compatible with the iPhone and i saw a couple of reviewers using thr XD05+ with an iPhone.
I guess it has something to do with the type of cable I use. I made sure to use a USB-C Datacable but couldn’t really find a cable that specifically sad it is an OTG USB-C cable (if that is even something different than a datacable).
I am as well unable to use an Anker PowerPort Atom PD1 charger with a PowerLine II (USB-C to USB-C) cable i normally use with my iPad Pro.
I own two XD05+ at the moment and both have the same issue. My guess is, that the xd05+ seams a little iffy with his usb-c ports.
For my iPhone to connect to my BTR5, I have to use the apple camera adapter. Then use an USB A - USB C cable between the camera adapter to the BTR5. If I use a lightning to USB C cable, no go.
I have the Plus and I use the BT only. It is flawless - and I have an android…
