yeah he mentioned that about the rods! very informative throughout.
But i love the somewhat tight clamp i get with my pair right now in the standard config so idk, how much would you say it affects clamp? would the suede pilotpad deteriorate the clamp less you think? Interesting you say that about the suedeā€™s, ill remember that

I didnā€™t feel it affected clamp that badā€¦ plus you can always adjust the clamp force by doing the recommended band bend:https://youtu.be/eyp2SpJ970Y

If you follow the video you can customize the clamp force to your preference. I wouldnā€™t worry about breaking the bandā€¦ unless you were to be strong enough to crease it and re-crease it the opposite way a couple hundred times lol

yep, ive abused the headband to death already, its great lol. brilliant feature

Iā€™m still upset that they put a sexier wood on these AFTER I got my pre-order unit from December.

Every time I see a photo of these I want to sell my pair to buy that set, but then Iā€™d be paying WAY more so I yell at myself in the mirror to make the voices in my head shut up.

and if you ordered early like a looney like myself you got a 200usd discount if i recall correctly making the sapele totally worth it

Take about 1 - 2 hours. It can be confusing on the pinout of the XLR connectors but once your figured it out it can be done really fast. Thank you for the compliment, this was my first time doing these stuff.
I canā€™t give you the number as it depends on how many cables you want to make. I had to buy tools too. The materials alone is not expensive.

Just put an order in for these, with the Universal Suede Pads, and the Suede Headband. Please tell me what I am in for, because my bank is in for a lot now. Lol

First off, congratulations on your new awesomes!

Next these are the first headphones Iā€™ve experienced that genuinely sound better with break-in, which is amazing for me because I enjoyed them throughout the 150+hrs of break in!

Universe suede pads are my favorites currentlyā€¦outside of that these are my current favorites over all my other headphones, they have great imaging, detail retrieval, tone, and still maintain a warm and relaxed listening experience for me.

Just an enjoyable headphone, also they are in my opinion an heirloom level quality with the custom wood cups, and design. Check out head-if Aeolus thread for more opinions on themā€¦I think only one person didnā€™t like them, and I donā€™t think they let them burn in or pad swapped for a preferred sound signature, as pad swapping also matters with these.

That is great to hear, since I love just sitting back and listening to music for hours, as well as gaming, and from literally everyone and their mom saying these are the best, I just had to buy them. It was either these or the Hd 800 S, but I already put my purchase in for the Aeolus, so iā€™m all in now boys.

Donā€™t forget to email Zach and Bevin if you have any questions, or want to add to your order etc. they are super cool, and now that the backlog is more or less over they should be getting the Aeolus out soonerā€¦did you email them about any b-stock available? Or just order from the website?

I Emailed about B-Stock, but they didnā€™t have an Aeolus, so just ordered normally, and asked if I could get a specific wood, but they donā€™t use Teak with Aeolusā€™s. Sooo, just kinda yolo at this point.

Well I just played a round of Overwatch with the Aeolus plugged into my THX 789 and using the El DAC (PC audio rig, higher end stuff is on the MacMini) and they sounded good to meā€¦ I didnā€™t have any surround sound software running. I could pin point where other characters were and the imaging and detail were really good. Sound stage didnā€™t seem super constrainedā€¦not HD800 wide but it wasnā€™t Clears/Utopia in your head. But Iā€™m not a pro gamer soooā€¦ ĀÆ_(惄)_/ĀÆ

Hey, as long as they are wider than the 58X iā€™m good.

I felt the bass was exaggerated and crossed into the mids too heavily making vocals seem a bit muddy. over longer sessions i came to prefer this over the verite but still was still lacking in that vocal department. highs were fine. nothing to write home about but as long as their not sibilant im usually ok even to the point where ill prefer rolled off highs instead of sparkle

Hey, Photo. Iā€™m interested in hearing what you have to say about these once you receive them. I canā€™t justify spending this kind of money in my current situation since Iā€™m moving and that has all kinds of costs associated with that. But since you and I both have a 58x Iā€™d like to know what your comparison would be between them since I might end up buying them later.

ive got soldering iron and clippers. would you be able to recall from memory where these parts were bough? if i were to have a go i would be making an unbalanced cable, would that be more straight forward? if not then ill do research on that. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated, thank you sir Vincent
