Honestly itâs a case where the product is exactly as described. The Be2 has become my favorite pad out of the four that I have for my Verite. It really does give the sound of the flat verite pads with the staging of the Universe and Auteur pads. Black magic. Actually if Iâm being as accurate as I can with comparisons I would say that the Be2 pads have a better stage than the Universe and the Autuer pads. Itâs more like the marrying of the stage of the Elex and Clear, but with the sound of the verite flat pads.

I did throw the BE2 perforated lambskin in the cart though, so Iâll be able to play around with the 3 and see what I prefer.
I ordered the Be2 perf hybrid pads and received the Be2 perf lambskin but I contacted zmf and theyâre sending the hybrids Friday. I tried the be2 and compared them to the Verite/flat pads. I didnât hear much of a difference. Letâs see how the Be2 hybrids play out but honestly, lately Iâve enjoyed the universe pads. For whatever reason the universe pads opened up the vocals and stage (obviously the stage got bigger but wasnât expecting the vocal change), but I like how the vocals are clearer. Not sure why I hear what I do with the Verite pads (veiled vocals) but the universe pads sound cleaner. And I used the universe pads when I first received the Verite but I changed them before burn in.
Oh what a lucky mistake! Cool that youâre getting both. Wish I had the be2 perf lambskin as well. Maybe if you donât end up liking them youâd be down for a trade?
The BE2 are more like the flats in tonality for sure, but I find if you use the BE2 for several days and then switch to the flat pads youâll find yourself wondering what happened to the soundstage. Suddenly everything is left and right instead of âup on stage.â

Havenât used them much but I think I like them more. I think theyâre slightly different. Maybe the foam is more stiff? Been using my clears lately.
Youâre using some great headphones there. Happens to be the only two that I own. Although the clears are up for sale for economic reasons more than anything else. Iâll PM you now.
Edit: I do think I find the staging to be more like the Focal staging with the BE2 hybrid pads.
