Personally, Iād take balance over detail 10 out of 10 times. If you spend all of your listening time analyzing detail, when do you have time to ever sit back and enjoy the music?
Thereās detail outside of the treble region btw and some people (actually most according to HTRC) prefer balance.
Yeah i think I might end up selling the Auteur. But man sometimes it sounds so good. And its the first time i heard my music sound like it did when i was a kid. It sounds more correct. And thats a big deal to me. I might end up keeping it.

Yeah I would say the hedd sounds genuinely up your alley if you want detail and fast, with actually decent timbre and low end
They still arent available yet. I was hoping they would go into production and eventually drop in price. but that seem like a long time from now
You can buy them right now if you want, a friend owns one and thatās where I heard it first. They have them on headphones.com I think. They have been out for purchase for a bit now
Have you tried any different pads? The perforated suede universe zmf pads would probably give you the most treble?

I like the flat pads for more serious listening and angled for more fun wow I guess lol. Flat pads are more neutral and refined to me, where angled has something going on with presentation and almost like a v(?) shape per se
Flat pads are where its at for sure. Mine came with the angled so i just wore them for a bit. Kept thinking well itāll get better with burn in but lets try these flats (impatient i guess lol). oh yeahā¦ i think the flats open the soundstage and depth imo.
flats are just plain better imo. and i dont think you NEED a tube but itās definitely in your favor with the verite to get a tube.
oh and i know the drivers are what they are, but the flat pads tend to bring out the speed of these drivers like i expected.
The angled are fun on first listen, but I have kept the flat pads on after lol, they are just more suited for the headphones imo
