Rant thread - share your grievances, not just audio

Thanks for that, but I already took care of it.

All I did was reinstall the app, then uninstall it again. That took care of it for some reason. I then ran CCleaner to get rid of any trash it might have left in the system somewhere. All is fine now.

For reference in the future, Revo Uninstaller does that kind of stuff well.

Bought headphones so won’t annoy family.

Mom says I play music too loud on headphone and never seem to accept the fact that they are open back. I even showed her they can be see through.

Angry landlord rant today!
I have a rental house that I’m in the process of transitioning from one renter to the next. The previous renter was great - paid on time, no damage. Overall very happy. But when he moved out he turned the power off before I could do the walk through. He wasn’t malicious (trying to hide something), just trying to save money while making trouble for me. This was very frustrating, but I tried to take it in stride and turned it back on. So today the power turned on - great! But when I went to walk through the house now the water is turned off! The guy transferred service and turned it off… so now I STILL can’t properly turn the house over. Hopefully tomorrow the water gets turned back on so I can inspect everything, clean the house, and get the new renters in. ARGH!!!

There are times that I just want to be left alone, but the fact that I won’t be able to do such luxury since the renovation process that is ongoing in our home got delayed due to troubles, and with that the extension of the deadline imminent, meaning I have to be in our living room downstairs for at least an another fucking month.

Goddammit, I just want to be left alone, I don’t want a lot of people being with me around all the time! I know this might come as weird to some or just unusual, but a room for me or specifically my OWN room is an another extension of myself, meaning if you set a FOOT in my own room uninvited or you know, like a freeloader interrupting me in a middle of something that is important to me, or requires a lot of focus to do, you are ruining me! Like ME!!

Welp, I guess I have to suck it up and endure things to come for me, and socializing too much, especially with your family can be exhausting! Don’t get me wrong I love them to death but good GOD! Give me some space and my own privacy.

@Ohmboy that’s like saying you can’t complain if you have shit parents for being shit parents because they gave birth to you. Z and DMS created this forum which i’m thankful for. Since most people here are cool, or at least were cool at a certain stage of the forum’s life. But that dosen’t make Z any less of a lazy, pathetic excuse of a reviewer who is less and less shameless about how lazy he is with his reviews, what his goal is (getting you to buy products with his affiliate links. I think i’ve seen him try to sell the last 5 products he’s reviewed, each time shitting on the product he had just reviewed to get people to buy the next one (with the MTM gold planar he called the GL2000 flat and lifeless). It’s just a joke at this point tbh.

Thank you this’s the place for such posts :+1: and not cluttering up ‘Official Headphone threads’…Ergo “This is the official thread for the blah blah blah. …This thread is for discussion and reviews.”

Fuck! This came out of nowhere for me to even comprehend or even accept it because to be honest, I still can’t and I thought it was just some joke created by some asswipe whose main intention is to rile me up. But much to my dismay that is not the case, to those who don’t know, Kentaro Miura, the author of Berserk AKA One of the BEST Mangas ever made, has passed away recently and that supposed nightmare that I am having like “I hope he doesn’t die, so that he can finish Berserk.” now has become a reality and it is a heart-wrenching and soul-crushing experience to a year that is already shit now even shittier to me because of this.

I know some of you here won’t give an inch of a care, hell! even hate the anime media or manga scenery, but I just want to say that this man’s work, Berserk, to me it’s more than a dark-fantasy manga, for me it’s a telling of humanity’s resilience, the will to find something in a world that is nothing but a void of life being a shithole or an excuse for yourself to live for nothing that you believe that it is something and most of all, a Magnum opus that changed my life! Making me realize that we have been going through whether it is a small-scale or large-scale of struggle and difficulties, we can still find the worth and beauty of every moment that we have endured as we keep trying to live the best of our lives.

I apologize if this is too long, it’s just that I am truly saddened, stabbed in the heart and crushed emotionally immensely by this news and hell I was at work when I heard the news, and legit tears streamed down from my face in the bathroom. I think it is some way a bittersweet end for Guts, Casca and for the others, therefore his impact, his pieces of passion and exuberance, and his soul materializing as a form art will never be forgotten and I will always cherish it forever in my heart.

Rest in Peace Miura Sensei.

Wow man, I wasn’t expecting that. Berserk is an awesome story, it claws deep into human emotions and makes you question a lot of how a society can work. It’s sad to see the author of such masterpiece going away. May he rest in peace indeed.

The landscape of anime, manga, light-novels and every other media that relates or has that ounce of Miura’s touch on their material, will never be the same again.

I have not felt this kind of pain ever since Kobe’s passing. I am already having mental and emotional struggles lately but this one, adds a toll to me. I guess it was a good idea to schedule a therapy for next week after all.

Computers . Came back home from doing some work on my grandmother’s garden, turned my computer on and while it was booting up went and put a load of clothes in the wash. When I came back it had blue-screened. Okay, odd, as it hasn’t done that since I built it, but whatever, it happens. I hit the reset button on the case to reboot it and now the fans won’t stop spinning up to full speed. WTF??? So I open HWiNFO64 to see if anything looks odd there. Nope. Temps are all fine, voltages are where they are supposed to be, nothing to see there. So I open Task Manager, and again, nothing strange there. What the actual f***??? Alright. one last thing to check before I start power cycling. ASUS Fan Expert, let’s see what you say. Wait…why is my AIO pump showing 0000 rpm? Oh no :fearful:. It’s only 6 months old, there’s no way. Nope, I refuse to believe it. Time to open her up .

So after I unplug everything from the back of the computer, switch off the power supply, and hold the power button to drain the capacitors I pull the side panel and unscrew the fan bracket on the top of the case that my radiator is mounted to. I start checking connections, making sure everything looks fine, and of course it all does. And as I’m doing this, I’m thinking to myself, I’m going to have to buy a new AIO. The pump has actually died, and I’m going to have to buy a new one. But in one last effort before I bite the bullet, I decide to plug it back up and see if the BIOS monitoring matches with the ASUS software.

…? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

3333 rpm. I honestly don’t know if I’m happy or pissed off. I’ve just spent an hour on this mess only for it to just up and start working again? :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Right, side panel is still off, so I grab the tubes, and sure enough, it feels like there is liquid flowing. Okay, let’s exit BIOS, and go into Windows. See what Fan Expert has to say now. And wouldn’t you know it, it’s no longer showing 0000 rpm.

So yeah, computers. As much as I love them, F**k 'em.

How about using HWinfo64 or something like that. I’m not a fan of the ASUS tools…

Can you use HWiNFO64 for fan control? I’ve only ever used it for the sensor readout.

Sorry, not for control, no (that’s what happens when I try working, reading, and being on the phone simultaneously). Though doesn’t the ASUS BIOS let you set the fan parameters there? Also you could try Speedfan in Windows.

There is at least some fan control in their BIOS, but I don’t think it lets me be as granular as I like. I could give Speedfan a try, but since I had to install Armoury Crate so I could turn off all the ridiculous RGB I just used their software. And I never had an issue with it on my old Haswell system, so I hadn’t expected to have an issue this time either.

I done fucked up. I threw my Tin T2 in the laundry bin at work, they were in the pocket of my scrubs as I ended my shift at 7AM. I didn’t realize my error until I was about to drive back to work today. So I go through the laundry bags, only to realize they’ve gone off to the main hospital for washing.

RIP Tin T2. Oh well, I guess now I have a reason to buy the KZ DQ6 to have at work…

So while, yes, I am looking for work in the IT field… I’m also aware I should still try to get an understanding of the company before going for an interview.
I applied for this one today, and got a call for it maybe an hour later. Awesome, right? Except I stopped trying to apologize for asking her to repeat herself after a while because she sounded distant and was talking too quickly for the words to be enunciated properly. After the call, I was sent an email asking for all the information that was asked for in the application, an updated resume (for the second time), a job description (incredibly vague), and the pay rate ($12/hour and my commute would be going from 1 mile to 31).
I figured I’d do my due diligence and look into the company, only to find… Holly cow… people really don’t like working for them… And from the constantly reoccurring complaints… I can see why. That compounded with a gut feeling to run and don’t look back, I figured I’d turn it down.
Messaged the recruiter on LinkedIn, thanking them for their time, and informing them that I had decided not to proceed. To which they sent “I don’t understand” and started blowing up my phone.

While it means taking longer to find something, I’d rather do that then jump into something I know I’m going to hate myself for.

At the very least you can use this as a way to practice your interview skills.

It also reminds me of a company i looked up where the employee reviews were mostly negative but for their likes they all wrote “at least there were bagels on fridays”

Well to be fair. They probably didn’t understand because you said “invitation” instead of investigation lol
