Hell yea. Iā€™ve had such a great experience with their support / customer service in addition to the quality of the hardware that Iā€™m sold on the company. Even if I donā€™t expressly need the Erish Iā€™ll grab it to support Geshelli Labs. Iā€™m also really curious as to any improvements / differences from the Archel.

I know that the Monolith LP will likely still be the better Amp, but itā€™ll be good to have a balanced amp at my desk at work. But I might be surprised :stuck_out_tongue:

I do have starfields on the way as well lol

Very curious to check out the erish when it comes out, lots of potential there

No, not yet. If the normal 6 weeks production is still valid, then mine are done at the end of next week. But I canā€™t tell by looking at the excel sheet. I donā€™t think it is 100% correct and last time my Aeolus arrived while they were listed as ā€œAssemblyā€.

But the wait is fine, it makes it even more great to finally get them :yum:

Starfields are great and when Iā€™m out and about and relaxing somewhere. They dont really need a lot of power but I have the ifi hip dac and they make them sound really really good.

Hahahahahaha. I have the iFi nano BL. Tastes seem to be very similar. I wish I had the hip dac though. The BL is way too bulky for real pocket portability.

Yea. I need an excuse to take more walks. With no sailing, commuting, or any other forms of normal activity sanctioned Iā€™m too sedentary. Wearing 770s and walking around looks a little weird lol.

Zach descibes them as 97% closed if I remember correctly, but would you say even less?

Yes. They are almost completely closed imo. The isolation stuff is due to a lack of squeeze. They feel almost feather like in tightness of fit, even though they are pretty secure. Keep in mind though, mine are used, so whoever had them before might have had a bigger noggin.

I would say these will comfortably keep you in your own headspace anywhere except a construction site or if someone is playing drums in the room though. Everything thatā€™s not music is very muted.

There is a complete seal around my ear. The vents donā€™t seem to let sound out at all unless itā€™s realllllllly blasting.

Edit : sorry I read that wrong initially lol

if you want/need more clamp you can bend the headband to accommodate. Zach put out a video showing all the different ways to tweak the fit of the band

Yep, have seen that and I will likely adjust it. At the same time, the lightness of the clamping is nice. I kinda just forget theyā€™re there.

Sidenote : Whoever thinks these things are heavy reallllly needs to do some bare minimum shoulder / neck / back work. These things are pretty damn light, especially for having wood cups. After reading everything I expected something like a brick.

i mean they are heavy in comparison to some cans, but the headband and strap system zmf employs is the secret sauce. it just does such a good job of distributing the weight evenly and combined with the awesome ear pads make them super comfy as long as you tweak the band for your head specifically.

Hahah, the ifi hip dac is special though. Iā€™ve been using it on my laptop or lg v20/starfield instead of the atom/enog/xbox/starfields and im starting to like it more. But the 712 and darkvoice is better overall. Iā€™m excited to get a zmf though. Thanks for all info though. Leaning towards the eikon.

listening to my Eikon right now through foobar > enog2pro > hagerman tuba with the RCA 7189 tubes rolled in. Sounds amazing. Iā€™ve been exclusively listening to LCD-X for the last 2-3 weeks and I can really pick up on the differences here. This sounds just so pleasurable lol

I think my only complaint is gonna be I canā€™t seem to get these guysā€™ headband to comfortably clamp on my head. I watched the headband bending tutorial and spent the last hour trying to bend them into shape. I can get a comfortable fit, but not a good clamp. Itā€™s not like my headā€™s tiny either.

Feels like the more I try to get them to clamp the looser the fit is.

Yea I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever been more frustrated with an adjustment system in my fucking life.

Ok. So I finally got it to work. Took about an hour and a half of constant bending and adjustment to get the band a semblance of flat/straight/clamp/even. That was obnoxious. I would HIGHLY prefer adjust any of my other headphones to the constant bending of this. ahhhhh

haha yeah it can take a little fiddling to get it just right. The upside is once you have it the way you want it, it holds the shape remarkably well. I havenā€™t had to re-bend mine since I received them back in march

Yea, exactly. I still donā€™t have it perfect. Iā€™d really love to totally flatten it and then bend it from new.

Honestly debating asking ZMF if I can buy a total replacement head strap / mount. Itā€™s still not right and itā€™s driving me crazy. Whoever had these before really fucked the strap up (the angles were ridiculous). Havenā€™t completely figured out how to unfuckify it yet. You really shouldnā€™t have to spend 1.5 hours playing with a headband to get it right lol

yeah it looks like you have the old chassis anyways, so you could definitely just order one of the newer style magnesium chassis with headband. be pretty sweet and would cut down the weight a bit too

yea. I gotta figure out what the price is first though. Wicked tempting.

i think the magnesium chassis is $250. Iā€™m not sure if it includes the headband or strap. I would just email Zach and ask about it, he is pretty responsive and helpful even to secondhand owners :+1:

You could also go with a newer aluminum chassis as well, if you donā€™t want to get the premium magnesium chassis.
